It is the responsibility of the medical student to request and obtain placement for the IDD away rotation. A list of programs offering away rotations that are eligible for the NICHE-MED scholarship are listed here. Alternatively, students may secure their own rotation and indicate where they have been accepted in their application. An IDD rotation must be confirmed with the host site prior to applying to become a NICHE-MED scholar.

Once rotation placement has been secured, medical students can request scholarship funds by submitting the online application below. The following information is needed to submit the application:

1. Away rotation information, including institution and supervising faculty

2. Documentation of acceptance to complete away rotation

3. Actual or estimated costs for away rotation using budget template and associated receipts
